NHS Fibroids Treatment

NICE Approval


Fibroid embolisation was passed by NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence)for routine use in 2007. The NHS then elevated the Procedure to a Best Practice Tarriff and given it an A procedure rating.


For the last 12 years I have been been carrying out fibroid embolisations at the Royal Surrey County Hospital on a pro bono, honorary basis and have treated many hundreds of NHS patients without payment. Unfortunately at the end of last year I was informed that my patients could no longer be accommodated because of limitations of capacity. Accordingly and most unfortunately this service has had to be terminate
